Early in his career, Oribe crossed paths with celebrity hairstylist Garren, an encounter that would change his life. Encouraged by Garren to follow his passion for hair, Oribe quickly proved himself and built an enviable reputation in the industry. In the 1980s and 1990s, Oribe established pivotal partnerships with influential figures in the fashion industry, including photographer Steven Meisel and makeup artist François Nars. Their collaboration redefined the beauty standards of the time and ushered in a new era in hair and fashion.
But it was his encounter with legendary fashion designer Gianni Versace that truly propelled Oribe to prominence. Their creative partnership resulted in iconic collaborations, including groundbreaking advertising campaigns and spectacular runway shows.
